So Much I Want To Do.....So Little Time

Ahhh, a nice cup of Chai tea to start the day. I've just learned to like this...had it before with milk and never cared for it, but left alone, I find it delicious. Now tea with a piece of fruit and a slice of banana bread is my idea of a nice breakfast.

I got a little behind, with all the fall cleanup, on my Felt Critters. So, here are the four that I have worked so hard on to finish up for today's showing. We are in the final lap for these cute critters. Only four more to go after this month. I guess we will get the patterns for the last four next month...so we can finish in time for Christmas decorating. I get all of them out once in a while and just try to imagine my little woodland tree with these cute felties decorating it. I think that I will put a string of colored lights on the tree...instead of the white ones that I've used in the past. This little tree has been up all year.....fun to decorate for the seasons.
Right now it is full of frosted birds, red berries, pine cones, and dried orange slices. I'll show it after it's decorated for Christmas.

This has been such a fun project and I've learned about working with felt. It's something that I will continue...making more of my candle mats and maybe a garland of birds for spring. My head is full of ideas. I have some doves to make for bingo prizes for Church... in the making.
This project was started by Dawn at http://creativecaincabin.com/
and Claudia at http://mockingbirdhillcottage.com/ These two have posted patterns each month for all this past year. I want to thank both Claudia and Dawn. I know it hasn't been easy for these two busy gals.  Claudia is sick right now and it will be hard for her this month. Just want them to know that I appreciate them keeping this going for just a few of us. There were several who started the project, but didn't finish. I think that there are only a few still making these felties. Christmas is coming and it will be here before we know it. I've got a couple new felt critters to work on now....
I also started knitting again yesterday. I usually put my knitting away for the summer. Fall is a great time to knit. I don't do complicated things....just hats and scarves and other easy projects. I like to knit while I watch TV...and can't count stitches and watch anymore. I don't get bothered by that....I just like to keep my hands busy creating. Speaking of creating....I have a project in the basement that I will tell about later on.
So much I want to do....so little time.

  1. Thank you for the idea of having a small tree up all year.
I have one in the storage room, small and is what I now use.
Going to bring it down and figure out where to put it.'
My little girls when coming soon will have something funny to say about it:)
I need to learn to knit
use to crochet but no one wants anything and made 18 afghans at that time.
Thought of making smaller ones for a lap quilt.
    Have a good day...

    1. My family has been inundated with hats, scarves and afghans. I knit now for the fact that I want to keep my hands limber. Dish clothes are nice to make too. They go fast if you can crochet. I use lightweight afghans year round...a lap size is a good idea.
I love my little tree. I got the idea from a dear friend who decorates hers for all the holidays. She has many different sets of lights for different occasions. I just do the little tree for the 4 seasons.Decorating mine makes me think of her each season.

    1. It's rainy and cooler today here too. I think we may have seen the last of our 80s.
if I didn't want to use them for my little tree....I might have stopped making them too.

  4. Your little felt critters look great! Your recipe for pumpkin bread sounds wonderful. It would really be good this time of the year.

  5. Some are harder than others to make. I'm making a peacock right now....going to be a little difficult with many colors.

  6. Your felt ornaments are adorable. We are already thinking ahead to Christmas this year when my grandson will be here, the first time we've had a baby in the house at the holidays for many years. I pulled out fabric ornaments I made when my kids were little to put around the bottom of the tree ~ they are nothing special but they are unbreakable. That way he will think he has "ornaments" on the tree.
