After being in the hospital all week and going through a million tests....they found cancer cells in the fluid that they drained from my abdomen. They also drained fluid from my lung to make it easier to breathe. The final diagnosis is Ovarian Cancer. The tumor is about 7 inches across.....about the size of a honeydew melon. I had my yearly physical at the end of Nov and everything was fine. So, starting chemo on Tues. After an aggressive chemo....I think for 6 months....I will have surgery at Universary of Madison, Wis.I'm so afraid of the future...I guess the mystery of not knowing how my body will react to the treatment is why. I hope you all continue to pray for me.
I'll be back here probably daily if I can manage.
Hugs from Balisha
Oh Balisha, my heart is with you

ReplyDeleteDear Balisha....I am new to your blog, and have so enjoyed getting to "know" you over the last few months. I am so sorry for this trial you are going through, and I'm glad that you have such a strong faith in God. He will be with you every step of this journey, and will provide a comfort and peace that modern medicine can't give. I have been praying daily for you the past week, and will continue to do so. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteOh, Balisha you have been in my thoughts and prayers several times a day. I am sorry to read this news. I will continue to hold you in my thoughts and prayers. The priority is for you to take care of yourself.

ReplyDeleteCame over from Facebook Pat and am so sorry to read this.. What can I say. Will keep you in my prayers. Hard to imagine just what you are feeling right now. I pray that you will know that peace that passes the all understanding and will feel Gods loving arms around you as he carries you through new journey. Lots of Love and Blessings.
ReplyDeleteBalisha, you will have my prayers for as long as it takes. I also pray God will give you strength and courage to face whatever is ahead. I was aware of a possible diagnosis after I looked it up. Hopefully they caught it early since there was no sign of it at your last physical. I had you put on our church's prayer list after your first mention of the problem. You have been on my own all along. Have courage! Your body has great healing power on it's own!
ReplyDeleteTake this just one day at a time, dear friend....
ReplyDeletePrayers for you, will be said . Thinking of you as you begin this journey. Hugs, Alice in Texas
ReplyDeleteDear Balisha, I have been checking on you all week. I felt it may not be good news since you

Pat
You are in my thoughts. Here is hoping for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for you.
ReplyDeleteNoooo! I have been so worried and when you said your abdomen was swollen, I knew there was something bad going on. My BFF lived many years with Ovarian Cancer and was rarely ill. She felt quite good all the time in fact. They will get the treatments going and the surgery and a bit more treatments and then you will have remission. You have so many Prayer Warriors on here and in your life--we will be praying every day for you.
ReplyDeleteBalisha,
ReplyDeleteI'm praying for you and will light a candle for you at Mass.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Balisha...I just cannot believe this. I am so very sorry. I don't know what else to say except that I am still praying for you and will continue to do so. God bless you, my dear friend and keep you in His care.
ReplyDeleteI had to go back and search through your post to find this one! My God! I am praying for you and your family! I know you are a woman of faith and will make peace with this. Cancer is cured daily. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in August and has gone through chemo and next is radiation. She is strong in faith like you. My prayers, hugs, and best wishes are with you and your family!
ReplyDeleteI have been away for a couple of weeks and was so shocked to read what has happened. I've also known many people that have gone through cancer treatment and have also been cured. Your faith and your friends and family will get you through. Sending prayers for you and your family and your caregivers. ~ Diane
