It is best to have the long side of the plot aligned with the sun, from east to west.kweektent compleet
Steve Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07645548559235454595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432737661978032207.post-74715960387992124102014-04-28T06:09:01.720-07:002014-04-28T06:09:01.720-07:00As I told Jane...we have to adapt to our weather c...As I told Jane...we have to adapt to our weather change. Last year was great for Forsythias. Mine is blooming right now. I think that things will be later this year. I'm trying to keep track of the hardy things that weathered "the storm" and if I replant....try not to repeat with the things that failed.
Have a great day...BalishaBalishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06823703470631008618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432737661978032207.post-23561813246088005902014-04-28T06:05:38.276-07:002014-04-28T06:05:38.276-07:00Hi Jane...My roses faced south. I have noticed in our town....many evergreens are brown from wind and snow...most have a southern exposure. The winds were terrific coming from the southwest, We've been told that the evergreens will be OK, but other more tender things were lost. Our Church's roses are dead too...They are all Knockout Roses. You should see our town....everyone has a brown evergreen or two in their yard, it seems. It was a winter I'd like to forget. It doesn't pay to fret about these losses...just try to change. Our weather is certainly changing....we just have to adapt.
Sounds like you were busy too. We've been waiting for this weather, so we are anxious to start out...take care and don't overdo.
BalishaBalishahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06823703470631008618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432737661978032207.post-35084685680378286472014-04-27T21:32:13.727-07:002014-04-27T21:32:13.727-07:00Oh No! They usually are flowered out by now and yet--nothing. I don't think I lost any perennials, but don't know for sure. Nothing is moving!!! Such a dreadful winter we had!Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03399435237919718544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7432737661978032207.post-14294904250452099972014-04-27T16:42:02.616-07:002014-04-27T16:42:02.616-07:00I love your critters, especially the deer with his...I love your critters, especially the deer with his long legs and sweet face! I would love to do this but I think the cutting out would do me in.

I'm so sorry about your roses. Do you mind telling me which way they faced? I planted two rose bushes and a 4 year old hydrangea last summer and they face West and up against the house. So far no sign of them doing anything. I worked super hard today as you did yesterday trying to beat the rain. It still hasn't come! Ha! I got grass seed down...the front was easy with the spreader but the backyard I did by hand...lots of bare spots. And I planted the 65 bulbs that hubby bought me a few weeks ago, Actually the majority were Liatris and went in one large hole. All in all, it took me about 15 minutes. I really had a great time. I sat and read on the patio and they dogs frolicked. Now they are dead tired!! We'll see how sore I am tomorrow!

I want to say...you have such a good attitude about the plants you lost, so admirable, and I know the perennials will be spectacular! :)

XO,
JaneBlondie's Journalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12988377413260331618noreply@blogger.com
